Alocasia

Alocasia  is a clump-forming tropical plant known for its upright, glossy heart-shaped leaves. Unlike many larger Alocasia species, it stays relatively manageable indoors and is considered one of the easier varieties to grow. It is mildly toxic to pets.

It is often associated with good luck in parts of Asia and is sometimes placed near temples.

INDOOR CARE :

Light:

• Bright, indirect light

• Can tolerate medium light

• Avoid harsh direct sun

Water:

• Keep soil evenly moist

• Do not let it sit in water

• Reduce watering slightly in winter

Humidity:

• Prefers moderate to high humidity

• Benefits from a humidifier

Temperature:

• Ideal range: 18–28°C (65–82°F)

• Avoid temperatures below 15°C (59°F)

Soil:

• Rich, well-draining mix (aroid mix with bark and perlite works well)
