Crocus ‘Pickwick’ is one of the most popular large-flowered Dutch crocuses. It produces striking white to silvery-lilac flowers with bold purple stripes and bright orange stamens, making it highly visible in late winter and early spring.

  • Flowers: February–March in Ireland, sometimes earlier in mild winters.
  • Height: about 10–12 cm (4–5 in).
  • Position: Full sun or light shade.
  • Soil: Well-drained soil; suitable for lawns, borders, rockeries, and containers.
  • Wildlife: Valuable early nectar source for bees and other pollinators.
  • Naturalising: Excellent for planting in grass, where it can spread into larger clumps over time.
